A Short Run Through Monitor Re-Calibration
Introduction:
Welcome to NEA's monitor re-calibration exercise.
We will take you through a quick re-calibration exercise for your monitor, in order to achieve your best attachment (including X-Rays, Perio-charts, intraoral pictures or EOBs) viewing level.
Radiologists work in darkened rooms to reduce reflection and glare that interferes with the interpretation of radiographs. An ideal environment provides a darkened room for creating and editing video captures of x-rays, with indirect lighting to reduce glare from your screen, and from the x-ray that is the subject of your video camera.
Monitors with dials for brightness and contrast are preferred for dental radiology because they allow easy adjustment for optimal viewing of images on the screen.
If your monitor has digital controls, get familiar with them or check the manual for your monitor for instructions.
